Thin line in-line venting and filtration units are ideally suited for venting applications and filtration of fluidic volumes too large for syringe filters. Filter media is a hydrophobic PTFE membrane with 0.4um retention. Barbs are a 5-15mm tapered step with 4mm ID which is compatible with slip port style high volume syringes. These filter units are ultrasonically welded and can withstand light duty vacuum (<70cmHg) or positive pressure (50psi). Light weight construction will not kink most vent tubing, a problem that causes failed reactions and low yield incubations. Transparent inlet side allows a visual indication of filter loading. Typical applications include venting of carboys, stir bottles, reservoir tanks, bio reactors and low-pressure reactor flasks. Suited for vacuum or positive pressure filtration applications and tank to smaller vessel transfers and filtration of media or broth. These thin line filters are about 30% of the cost of heavy duty overmolded designs and operate with very low backpressure, even wetting and linear flow rates. Polypropylene housing is molded with pure virgin material, naturally chemical resistant and has very low extractables commonly known to cause background noise for analysis applications. Each is ultrasonically welded with no adhesives or solvents. Made in the USA and QA tested using a 12-point pre and post manufactured methodology.
