The MultiDensity™ 1000 binderless glass microfiber filter is an easy to use filter which retains solids in a broad size range. This is a thinner version of the standard MultiDensity™ filter which has a caliper thickness of 2.5 - 3.5mm and was designed to filter the most challenging samples. MultiDensity™ 1000 is a 100% binderless borosilicate glass microfiber, formed to create a built-in pre-filter. Larger solids become entrapped on the built-in pre-filter layer allowing the multiple density zones of filter to entrap finer solids rapidly and reliably. This yields a faster flow rate with higher fluidic capacity up to 4X greater than traditional glass microfiber filters in same porosity range. This allows processing of larger sample volumes or samples with higher ratio of solids and less frequent filter changes which reduces variables in sample prep. Filters are laser cut with fused edge cutline for decreased fiber shedding and increased handling stability. The filter is free of binders, glues and resins which ensures a higher purity filtrate. Filters demonstrate very low extractables and borosilicate glass is highly resistive to aggressive solvents, acids and base with a usable range of 0-14pH and a wide effective temperature range of -200 to 500 °C.
